How to fit and wear a shoe tag

I have two designs of shoe tag - one with two holes (recyclable/disposable) and one with 4 holes (recoverable).

Both are designed to be fitted and worn in similar ways, on the top part of your shoe (either foot and with the tag either way up) and they can be horizontal (across your foot) or vertical (from top to lower part of foot). Photos below show the vertical orientation.

Two holes - pass the tie under your shoelaces so that the two ends of the tie point upwards. Pass the ends through the two holes in the tag, and twist together (or zip tie if that's supplied)

Four holes - pass each tie under your shoelaces so that the two ends of each tie point upwards. Pass the ends through each of the two holes in the tag, and twist together (or zip tie if that's supplied)

4 hole - Yes

Fastened properly with two twist ties, up under laces
and ends twisted together.

Good tag fitting

2 hole - Yes

Fastened properly with one twist tie, up under laces
and ends twisted together.

Good tag fitting

No

Not ideal as you have to unlace your shoe to remove the tag.

The tag MAY work if fixed like this, but runs the risk of flapping around and not being parallel to the mat as you cross

Poor tag fitting

No

Because this is fully laced in,
(a) you'd have to remove your shoe and laces to remove the tag and
(b) this lacing in method can stress the tag and break it internally as your foot flexes during running.

Poor tag fitting

No

The tags only work when they are basically parallel to the mats.

This tag won't be read on the mats as it flaps around and is
mostly perpendicular to the mat surface.
